Mid October Resolutions

Resolutions aren't often made at this time of year. And it's unlikely they have much impact, if any (after all, we can get things done by just doing it instead of resolving to do it.)

That said, a few incidents the past few months have made me think.

Let's resolve not to transfer our baggage onto someone else, wittingly or unwittingly. And especially to people who should not have anything to do with our own problems.

On the flip side, let us not take up unfair baggage just because we don't want to hurt anyone. Nice guys are good and all but perhaps the really great people know when to be heartless because, sometimes, that may just be the most caring thing they can do.

A decision

It's fascinating how decisions are made in the mind. Suddenly something clicks and a decision to go one way or the other is made. And what exactly are the triggers? Reasons sure isn't it (though they sure don't hurt either). And the inner philosopher hopes it's not just pure animal instincts/emotions that rule the roost.

And in a world where you only live once (at least, that's what wise men have told me so far), who's to say which decisions are better or worse
